Mark my words- you are going to buy my book. You will read it. (Part of my reasoning is that an amazing story will be even better when it is backed by an author who stands out). You will buy it. You will. Thoughts that may be flowing through your noodle: “Lookit this guy, he is just doing this for attention” and/or “Are you serious? ANOTHER get-in-your-face ad? He’s trying to stand out to make a sale” and/or “This greenhorn author doesn’t know how to advertise so he is getting my attention like this?” and to all of that I say yes!

You are correct in thinking those thoughts. I am desperate for money, and I really wanna get recognized for my passion and work. Pity me. That’s right, there’s nothing too special about this tactic, other than the fact that it isn’t used much. I want the green stuff. Okay fair enough this guy is yelling at me to pull me into his pity party, now is he actually going to tell me about the story?

HERE IT IS: A clock wanders luscious ancient forest riddled with ominous enchantment in the search for elemental berries and dusty rusty gilded treasure, whilst a leaf-creature wields tools crafted from pumpkins filled with pockets of spice in the search for a seed that made the whole forest grow. Now, I do mean to brag. I do mean to toot my own horn in a cocky manner (which is deeply frowned upon by society). And I boast about how great this book is. As I was writing it I was amazed by the brilliancy of the spicy scribe I was, making such rich words that they tickle the brain and make one hungry for more.

Now I don’t even know if this spicy attitude tactic will even work. I might still have no one even notice me. But I once heard something that stayed with me in my childhood, when I thought it sounded nice, but it awakened like a fire-seed blooming into an explosion within me in my life now, and that was to hold your nose and jump into that cold water, to take that chance, and do it. Because it may be your only chance. So I take this risk and type these words out and pull confidence and faith from nothing and publish this short story, with not just faith but knowledge that it will sell.

Billions. This book will sell billions of copies. This is only the beginning of an amazing adventure. The adventuresome way is blossoming before you, and I hope you are as excited as I am for the series and plethora of stories that will come forth from this author. And look: I know I was saucy back there. But I already feel bumbling amounts of gratitude towards you for buying my book. This book will sell billions of copies.

And I fight against that doubt I feel when I say that, and I use my faith and yours in me as the weapon to overthrow the doubt and establish stubborn hope. Consider this: the vain crude stand-out tactic is employed because the product is so good, so amazing, and so darn delicious that it needs to be put out there. Screaming for attention only goes so far, it needs to be backed with skill in order for this whole thing to take off. And I got the guts and the crazed eyes looking forward daringly to say boldly: I have the skill. OKAY LOOK: This is what this story is actually about.

The creation of consciousness from the essence of existence. The resilient drive to survive when you are fading upon your deathbed. Curiosity.Curiosity.
